Arsenal have faced Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool side 15 times across all competitions — only four of which have seen Liverpool put less than three goals part Arsenal.

No matter how encouraging the past two months have been for Arsenal, there is no hiding from the fact they are nowhere near Liverpool.

Three and a half years since he completed 90 minutes in a Premier League match, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reminded everyone of his quality with an impressive performance in Liverpool's 4-0 win over Arsenal.

His first full top-flight match since his devastating ACL tear which he suffered in the first leg of a Champions League semi-final against Roma.

Jurgen Klopp needs those standards from the 28-year-old to be consistent.

After Tottenham's 2-1 win over Leeds on Sunday, the energy that radiated around the stadium was palpable. Antonio Conte was the fans conductor.

It is just the start of Conte's era at Tottenham but, as written by The Athletic's Charlie Eccleshare, the mood at full-time on Sunday felt like the antidote to the gloom that has hung over Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium.

Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard have not been named in Real Madrid's Champions League squad for their game against Sheriff.

Bale picked up a calf muscle issue while playing for Wales during the international break while Eden Hazard is still recovering from a stomach virus.

Both players missed the side's 4-1 league win over Granada on Sunday.

Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic will be the attackers available to Carlo Ancelotti on Wednesday.

If Real Madrid win against Sheriff, they will advance to the knockout stage.

Speaking at Manchester United's pre-match press conference Maguire added: “Well, I think, in football, you go through ups and downs and you go through tough times. I think, if you look at the players now at this club, you’ll speak to a lot of them and I think they’ll probably say it’s their toughest time at club level.

“So we know it’s not been good enough, the recent performances haven’t been good enough. We haven’t been delivering individually, but also collectively, and when you’re not doing it collectively, the results pay the price and, like I said, it’s snowballed from one thing to another.

“We’ve got to take huge responsibility for that and we’ve got to find something within ourselves.

“We’ve got to look forward, we’ve got to move this club forward and find something within ourselves, within the group to find that focus and mentality to produce a good performance tomorrow and get the result we need for this club.”

West Bromwich Albion have been unsuccessful in their appeal to have Jake Livermore's red card from their 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town on Saturday overturned.

The West Brom captain was sent off by referee Tim Robinson in the 78th minute for a foul on Fraizer Campbell.

Valerien Ismael's side were already a goal down at that point in the match, with Danel Sinani giving the hosts a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire said the players have to take a "big responsibility" for their poor run of results.

He said: “We've been on a journey together, it’s never nice to see someone lose their job. For him to come in and speak to us yesterday, the emotion around the place… I think yeah, it was difficult to be in.

“All the lads, it shows as a group of lads, how much we want to succeed and like you said, the result on Saturday, it wasn't good enough.

“The results recently haven’t been good enough. It's a results business and, unfortunately, Ole has paid the price for that.

“Obviously, we’ve got to take a big responsibility for that as well."
